Description:

This paper presents information on two pilot-field applications of advanced oxidation technologies for contaminated groundwater with organics. he two UV/oxidation technologies were developed by Ultrox International of Santa Ana, California and Peroxidation Systems, Inc. of Tucson, Arizona. he Ultrox technology was demonstrated in 1989 with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Superfund Innovative Technology Evaluation (SITE) program at the Lorentz Barrel and Drum (LB&D) site in San Jose, California. eroxidation Systems technology was applied at the Old O-Field site located within the Aberdeen Proving Ground, in Maryland. he information presented includes a description of the technologies, factors affecting the technologies, and results from the two pilot-scale studies of the UV/oxidation treatment system applications.
