Citation:

Wetherold, R. AND C. Smith. ASSESSMENT OF ATMOSPHERIC EMISSIONS FROM PETROLEUM REFINING: VOLUME 2. APPENDIX A. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, D.C., EPA/600/2-80/075b.

Description:

The report gives results of a 3-year program to assess the environmental impact of petroleum refining atmospheric emissions. Emissions from fugitive and process emission sources were sampled, and emission rates were determined. The sampling methodologies used for baggable sources (valves, flanges, pump and compressor seals, relief valves) and process stacks (fluid catalytic cracking units, sulfur recovery units, process heaters) are described in this volume. Also included are descriptions of the experimental design for the sampling program and the analytical techniques employed in the field sampling segment of the assessment study.
