Sudell, G. AND G. Evans. TECHNOLOGY EVALUATION REPORT: ECO LOGIC INTERNATIONAL GAS-PHASE CHEMICAL REDUCTION PROCESS - BAY CITY, MICHIGAN. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, D.C., EPA/540/R-93/522a.

Description:

This document reviews the results of a 28 day demonstration program conducted by the Superfund Innovative Technology Evaluation (SITE) Program. co Logic International owners and operators of the process, provided their Gas-Phase Chemical Reduction Reactor and a companion Thermal Desorption Unit (TDU) for the demonstration. he Eco Logic Reactor is designed to treat liquid waste streams contaminated with chlorinated compounds, such as PCBS. he companion TDU can be used to desorb organics from contaminated soils. he reduction reaction employed by the Eco Logic process uses high temperatures (900 degrees C) and a hydrogen-rich atmosphere to reduce waste streams to a reformed gas product. his reformed gas product, once scrubbed of HCL, closely matched the composition of other commercial fuel gases. n test runs involving a PCB contaminated waste oil (24.5% PCBS) and a wastewater (3,757 ppm PCBs), the Eco Logic Reactor achieved 99.9999% DRE.
