Description:
The white-rot fungus Phanerochaete chrysosporium has the ability to degrade's wide variety of structurally diverse organic compounds, including a number of environmentall3 persistent organopollutants. he unique biodegradative abilities of this fungus appears to be dependent upon its lignin-degrading system. he non-specific and partially extracellular nature of this system suggests that it may be useful as a supplementary means to treat organochemical wastes.
