Piwoni, M., C. Lin, AND W. Vick. CONSIDERATIONS IN GRANULAR ACTIVATED CARBON TREATMENT OF COMBINED INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATERS. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, D.C., EPA/600/2-83/009 (NTIS PB83164475), 1983.

Description:

The objective of this project was to examine the use of activated carbon in reducing the content of biologically resistant organic compounds in a combined industrial wastewater treatment system. The invvestigation was conducted in two stages: (1) characterize organic priority pollutants bio-refractory to a fullscale combined industrial treatment system, and (2) evaluate add-on activated carbon adsorption for removal of these priority pollutants.
