FORECASTING EFFECTS OF SEWAGE SOLIDS ON MARINE BENTHIC COMMUNITIES

Description:

Solids from marine municipal discharges settle to the sea bottom where they cause major but potentially reversible changes in the biomass and trophic structure of macrobenthic communities. The relationships may be useful in forecasting changes in the size and structure of benthic communities in response to changes in solids emissions and in providing guidance for the design and execution of responsive monitoring surveys.
