Description:

Sediments from Phillips Chain of Lakes (Wisconsin), Torch Lake (Michigan), and Little Grizzly Creek system (California) were tested for acute toxicity using the water flea. Daphnia magna, and the burrowing mayfly nymph, Hexagenia limbata. The organisms were tested simultaneously in a laboratory recirculating bioassay apparatus; Daphnia were tested during the first two and the last two days of 10-d Hexagenia tests.
