Description:
This report was prepared as part of the Ohio River Basin Energy Study (ORBES), a multidisciplinary policy research program supported by the Environmental Protection Agency. The objectives of the analysis are to identify American social values and to examine their relationship to energy production and use within the framework of ORBES. The major topics are (1) an overview of social values and energy policy, (2) an identification of values implicit in the ORBES scenarios, (3) a secondary analysis of survey data, and (4) a discussion of variations in social values by social and demographic characteristics.
