Lee, S. AND S. Sengupta. PROCEEDINGS: SECOND CONFERENCE ON WATER HEAT MANAGEMENT AND UTILIZATION HELD AT MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA IN DECEMBER 1978, VOLUME 1. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, D.C., EPA/600/9-79/031A.
Description:
The proceedings document most presentations made during the Second Conference on Waste Heat Management and Utilization, held December 4-6, 1978, at Miami Beach, FL. Presentations were grouped by areas of concern: general, utilization, mathematical modeling, ecological effects, cooling tower plumes, cooling towers, cogeneration, cooling systems, cooling lakes, recovery systems, aquatic thermal discharges, and atmospheric effects. Causes, effects, prediction, monitoring, utilization, and abatement of thermal discharges were represented. Utilization was of prime importance because of increased awareness that waste heat is a valuable resource. Cogeneration and recovery systems were added to reflect this emphasis.
