As part of the Chesapeke Bay Program zooplankton counts, biomass, and biovolume data have been collected by the Maryland Department of the Environment /Maryland Department of Natural Resources and the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality. Available data sets include: 1) Maryland Zooplankton Count, Biomass and Biovolume Files (and Related Event Files) containing data collected at fixed sampling stations in the upper Chesapeake Bay, Maryland tributaries and the Potomac River since July 1984. The data through December of 1995 are available. Count files are for single calendar years and include detailed taxonomic identifications of mesozooplankton (>202micron) species, measurements of mesozooplankton biomass, and measurements of jellyfish biovolumes. 2) Virginia Zooplankton Count Files (and Related Event Files) containing data collected at fixed sampling stations in the lower Chesapeake Bay and the Virginia tributaries. Chesapeake Bay mainstem monitoring data is from July 1985 through December of 1995. The tributary monitoring data is from July 1986 through December 1995. The Elizabeth River monitoring program data is from January 1989 to December 1991. Mesozooplankton (>202micron) count files are for single calendar years and include detailed taxonomic identifications of species. Data files for mesozooplankton biomass and jellyfish biovolume are currently unavailable.
