Description:
This report describes methods for water and wastewater sample collection and processing for the Ames Salmonella mutagenicity assay. uidelines are provided for sampling equipment, composite sample collection, storage, and handling; sample filtration and extraction and concentration of organic compounds in samples; and the conduct of Ames tests with sample extracts and with samples prior to extraction.
