Description:
The proceedings document presentations at the International Conference on Municipal Waste Combustion (MWC), held on April 11-l4, 1989, in Hollywood, Florida. The objective of the Conference was to provide an effective international forum for tile exchange and transfer of information on municipal solid waste incineration, ash disposal, and related economic, political, social, and technical issues. In addition to the papers presented in response to the Call for Papers, invited speakers made presentations in the keynote addresses, international overviews, and panel discussions (Residue Issues and Research Needs, and Challenges of the `90s). Topic addressed during the technical sessions included: MWC planning, performance, and maintenance; combustion technology; flue gas cleaning; ash characterization, leaching, treatment, utilization, and disposal; sampling and analysis; quality assurance, quality control; materials recovery and recycling; economic and social issues; and risk and health effects.
