Carlson, A. AND P. Kosian. TOXICITY OF CHLORINATED BENZENES TO FATHEAD MINNOWS ('PIMEPHALES PROMELAS'). U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, D.C., EPA/600/J-87/015 (NTIS PB87195442), 1987.

Description:

The toxicities of several chlorinated benzene compounds to fathead minnows were determined. Generally both acute and chronic toxicity values decreased and the tissue concentration values associated with the chronic toxicity values increased as the number of chlorine atoms on the benzene increased from 2 to 4. The decreasing toxicity values were indicative of increasing toxicity. Mean bioconcentration factors increased with increased chlorination of the benzene ring from 2 to 6.
