Description:

A field test was conducted to determine the applicability of the SemiVOST method (SW-846 Method 0010 (Sampling), SW-846 Draft Method 3542 (Sample Preparation), and SW-846 Method 8270 (Analysis)) to semivolatile halogenated organic compounds listed in Title Ill of the 1990 Clean Air Act Amendments. aboratory tests and two field tests had resulted in the development and evaluation of liquid dynamic spiking apparatus with procedures to demonstrate the field performance of halogenated analytes. raft Method 3542 (Sample Preparation) was developed as a result of the poor recoveries experienced in the second field evaluation test. his third field test evaluates the performance of the SemiVOST methodology at a stationary source with high moisture and complex organic stack emissions. he new guidance (Draft Method 3542) for sample preparation and recovery of the semivolatile organic compounds from the components of the Method 00 I 0 sampling train was also evaluated. uadruple SemiVOST trains were operated, with two spiked trains and two unspiked trains. nalytical results showed acceptable recovery and precision for 25 of 28 analytes.
