Landreth, R. SERVICE LIFE OF GEOSYNTHETICS IN HAZARDOUS WASTE MANAGEMENT FACILITIES. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, D.C., EPA/600/D-91/018 (NTIS PB91162826).
Description:
The potential service life of synthetic polymer materials (geosynthetics) is of immediate importance in all countries where municipal solid waste and hazardous waste landfills are lined with these materials because of the need to know more about the aging characteristics and the potential service life of polymeric products as they are used in modern waste disposal environments, experts met (December 1987) to review the current state of knowledge of the service life of flexible membrane liners (FML) and other polymeric materials used in such environments. art of this meeting also addressed potential research needs so that geosynthetic researchers can apply their know-how and talents to pressing, first-order research. he general unknowns of landfill liner systems are outlined here.
