Description:

Pyrolysis-GC/MS is used to evaluate the organic foulants found on two types of membranes for three natural waters. olyamide and cellulose acetate membranes are used. aters from Manatee Lake, Harsha Lake, and the Ohio River are used as feed waters. he pyrolysis fragments are classified into four biopolymer groups: polysaccharides, proteins, polyhydroxyaromatics, and aminosugars. he results suggest that polysaccharides preferentially associate with the cellulose acetate membrane. oth polysaccharides and proteins associate with the polyamide membrane.
