Description:

Aspiration efficiency of particles from a flowing airstream into a thin-walled sampling inlet is accurately predicted using a numerical model. he model combines the Boundary Integral Equation Method for predicting the velocity field into the inlet with an analytical solution to the particle equations of motion. wo-and a three-dimensional model are examined. esults for the three-dimensional model correlate well with an empirical model of aspiration efficiency. he method can be generalized to a wide range of airstream, sampling inlet, and particle conditions.
