LINEAR MODELS FOR THE ANALYSIS OF LONGITUDINAL STUDIES

Citation:

Ware, J. LINEAR MODELS FOR THE ANALYSIS OF LONGITUDINAL STUDIES. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, D.C., EPA/600/J-85/553.

Description:

Longitudinal investigations play an increasingly prominent role in epidemiologic research. espite the importance of the longitudinal study, satisfactory methods for the analysis of serial measurements are not readily available. ongitudinal studies typically have unbalanced designs, missing data, and other characteristics that make standard multivariate procedures inapplicable. his article describes recent research focused on the development of statistical methods that not only take into account the intercorrelation of serial measurements but also accommodate the complexities of typical longitudinal data sets. hese new methods will be of great use in future environmental epidemiologic studies of the impact of environmental contamination on human populations.
