Description:

The Clean Air Status and Trends Network (CASTNet) is an integrated monitoring network combining different long-term monitoring projects and their data collection activities under one umbrella. urrent monitoring projects include the CASTNet Dry Deposition Network, the CASTNet Visibility Network, and the CASTNet Urban Air Toxics Network. he data which are collected are wet and dry deposition and their constituents, ground based 03, fine particle aerosol and its components, light scattering, light absorption and air toxics along with standard meteorological measurements wind speed. wind direction., temperature, and relative humidity. he purpose of this paper is to report on the implementation and summarize the status of CASTNet Visibility with regards to methods selection, siting requirements, site selection, and statistical evaluation of network sampling and spatial trends of the proposed networks.
