Description:

The work was performed under a joint NBS/EPA research program to develop state-of-the-art protocols for sampling, storage, and analysis of biological and environmental-type matrices. This report is a compliation of research papers and/or efforts describing developed or adopted procedures for retrospective analysis of biological and environmental samples. Preliminary protocols for sampling, sample handling, and sample storage are given for human liver autopsy tissue in addition to methods for the accurate measurement of selected toxic elements in biological and environmental materials. Analytical mejthods employed were neutron activation analysis (NAA), polarography, and isotope dilution spark source mass spectrometry (IDSSMS).
