Citation:

Burlingame, J., J. Gabrielson, P. Langsjoen, AND W. Cooke. FIELD TESTS OF INDUSTRIAL COAL STOKER FIRED BOILERS FOR INORGANIC TRACE ELEMENT AND POLYNUCLEAR AROMATIC HYDROCARBON EMISSIONS. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, D.C., EPA/600/7-81/167.

Description:

The report gives results of 23 tests for 21 polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and 74 inorganic trace elements in the effluent of 11 coal stoker fired boilers. The results were obtained from data gathered by analysis of the catch collected from the Source Assessment Sampling System (SASS) train, for collection of particulate and volatile matter in addition to gaseous samples. SASS tests were conducted in accordance with EPA Level 1 guidelines, which provide only preliminary emissions data, to help identify problem areas. In addition to test results, the report describes the facilities tested, coals fired, test equipment and procedures, analytical procedures involved for organic and inorganic analysis, and data reduction.
