Description:

A new database, PHYTOTOX, dealing with the direct effects of exogenously supplied organic chemicals on terrestrial vascular plants is described. The database consists of two files, a Reference File and Effects File. The Reference File is a bibliographic file of published research papers. The Effects File contains chemical- and plant-response information derived from the papers listed in the Reference File. The authors anticipate that government, academic, and industrial users will find the PHYTOTOX database an invaluable tool in predicting and modeling the effects of organic compounds on plants and their ecosystems.
