Description:

This paper describes the development of climatological information products to support ecological data collection and analysis. Characteristics of climatological persistence and recurrence that are critical to New England forest health and productivity are identified. he appropriate data are assembled and presentations developed which address specific issues pertinent to climate change research; background (Status and persistence); most recent decade (short-term trends); and near-term impacts (modeling and prediction). eographic Information System (GIS) is used for presentation, data management and analysis. reliminary results of this research have been incorporated in United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service monitoring program reports. he application of regional climate research techniques to assessment and integrated activities of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Environmental Monitoring and Assessment Program (EMAP) is being actively explored. ts future use in climate/forest integrated modeling is anticipated.
