Description:
Landfill covers are used at Superfund sites to minimize surface water infiltration and control gas migration. In many cases covers are used in conjunction with other waste treatment technologies, such as slurry walls, ground water pump-and-treat systems, and gas collection. This bulletin discusses various aspects of covers Including their applicability, limitations on their use, a description of the technology including innovative techniques, site requirements, performance data, the status of these methods, and sources of further information.
