Description:

A symposium was held at the University of Maryland Nov. 30 - Dec. 2, 1992, to discuss transgenic plant risk assessment issues for measurement and identification of potential ecological and nontarget organism effects. he goal was to identify available scientific information and highlight future research that will lead to useful test protocols for environmental risk assessments of transgenic plants. his report addresses the current state of the art, organization of the symposium, current regulations, procedures in both the European Community, Canada, the United States, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. t also lists the topics addressed during the scientific presentations.
