Description:

Census place codes were dissolved & combined into state city or census Designated Place (CDP) areas. The total 1990 population was also calculated & attached to the Census place. Each state file may have multiple polygons and/or doughnut holes in an area for a city/CDP. A local variable SIGNIF was created and filled with Y for the polygon with the largest area for any one place, thus eliminating multiple labels for a city, or place. Scale: 1:100,000 Extent: ID, OR & WA. Major Attributes: 1990 population, city name, most significant area of city with multiple areas. Projection: R10 Albers. Source: US Census TIGER
