Description:

This data is available for each county in the region. The information is in polygon format down to the block/tract level. We have various programs to summarize statistics of population and demographics for any described geographic area or distance around a known point. We have population density shading patterns set up for density bands from 1 to 10000 people per sq mi. The 100K scale looks good for maps down to about 1 inch to the mile (5-10 miles on 8 1/2 x 11 paper). Information is too detailed for plotting on statewide maps, and we suggest a county on a 30 x 24 map to be a maximum. We also have the Census STF3A files, which include attributes for such information as household income, living standards, and other related info. Scale: USGS 1:100,000 scale DLG in urban areas; smaller scale in rural areas. Major Attributes: Total population, white, black, asian, AmInd, hispanic, over 18, under 18, population density (per sq mile or sq km) per block tract polygon, census block group and tract polygons.
