Description:

The United States-Ministerial Agreement of May 1974 provided for the exchange of environmental information in several areas of mutual concern. This report is the compilation of papers presented at the third U.S.-Japan experts' meeting on the management of bottom sediments containing toxic substances, one of the 10 identified problem areas. Some of the areas discussed are: Toxic effluents; water pollution control projects; dredging toxic sediments and the impacts associated with dredging; bioassays; spoil disposal and regulations.
