Description:

The suitability for land treatment of 3 pesticides in a liquid waste stream was evaluated. he evaluation was performed under laboratory conditions utilizing 15 cm by 150 cm long glass columns. omposition of the water was monitored as a function of time and depth for eight columns utilized in the study. xperimental columns were duplicated and there were 4 treatments in the study. hree different soils were studied and one soil was studied at two different hydraulic loading rates. he experimental data were collected in both batch static microcosms and dynamic columns studies. he confidence limits on the batch obtained transformation rates were not sufficiently tight to permit reasonable projections in most cases. he pesticides followed a systematic pattern in the column with respect to transport and degradation. owever, apparently processes other than first order take place in the profile and it is necessary to perform additional studies to delineate the actual biochemical processes.
