Surf Your Watershed is both a database of urls to world wide web pages associated with the watershed approach of environmental management and also data sets of relevant environmental information that can be queried. It is designed for citizens and decision makers across the country who are active and interested in the watershed-based environmental movement. Surf Your Watershed is being developed at the Environmental Protection Agency with numerous partners. In order to get the most out of Surf Your Watershed, please read the suggestions and explanations under http://www.epa.gov/surf/help.html. Information in Surf Your Watershed can be accessed in more than one manner. General Page Layout Use the image map located at the top of the pages to transport you to the main pages in Surf or to the EPAs homepage or back to the Surf homepage. All of the words in the image map are hotlinks. How to Locate Your Watershed: With Words: Search by state (2 letter code), Zip Code (5 digit code), Stream Name (stream name and state abbreviation), Watershed Name (associated with USGS cataloging unit), USGS cataloging code (8 digit), County name, EPA region number, National Estuary Program, Indian Tribe name. Search result produces one or more matching watershed codes. Look at map of state to determine the correct watershed for your area. Point & click: Select a state from the map presented. Select the portion of the state you want to see and note the Watershed (USGS Cataloging Unit) number. Maps have some keys cities listed to aid in locating your watershed.
