Lee, C. AND G. Huffman. THERMODYNAMIC FUNDAMENTALS USED IN HAZARDOUS WASTE INCINERATION. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, D.C., EPA/600/D-90/087 (NTIS PB90262783).

Description:

Thermodynamics is the basic foundation of many engineeringpractices. nvironmental engineering is no exception, it is usingthermodynamic principles in many applications. n particular, those who are involved in the incineration of various wastes suchas hazardous and municipal wastes, pesticides and sludges, andhospital and institutional wastes require a full understanding ofbasic thermodynamics in order to successfully conduct their jobs. The objective of this paper is to present, and to illustrate theuse of, some basic thermodynamic principles in order to assistengineers, managers, permit writers, the public, and any otherinterested parties in their evaluation of the incineration process.
