Description:

This report is a comprehensive review of past and current thinking, as reflected in the scientific literature, on the mechanisms by which peroxisome proliferating agents are thought to act as carcinogens. he report is divided into four main sections: (1) background information on the biochemistry of peroxisome proliferation, including discussions of structure-activity relationships and species/gender differences; (2) a discussion and evaluation of all mechanisms that have been proposed for peroxisome proliferator-induced carcinogenesis; (3) an indepth discussion of receptor-mediated mechanisms of peroxisome proliferator action; and (4) a discussion of the current status of the field and future directions.
