Description:
Metabolites of arachidonic acid ("eicosanoids") and platelet activating factor are important bioactive lipids that may be involved in the pathobiological alterations in animals induced by pollutant exposure. nalysis of these substances in biological tissue and fluids is important for determining their role in these processes. his manuscript describes and reviews some of the analytical techniques available for quantitation of these lipids. he described assays include use of high performance lipid chromatography, thin layer chromatography, radio immunoassay, and enzyme linked immunoassay.
