Results of recent laboratory experiments concerned with the ntrainment and deposition of sediment is in lakes are reported. rom these experiments and other recent work, quantitative descriptions and parameterizations of entrainment and deposition processes are made. n the interpretation of the experimental results, the effects of particle size variation and cohesion of particles are significant. he laboratory results are also compared with previous observations of turbidity in the western basin of Lake Erie and good agreement is obtained.
