Description:
This chapter discusses guidelines for the management of bronchopulmonary disease in the cat, based in part, on extrapolations from the current therapeutic recommendations for asthma and chronic bronchitis in humans. ecommendations were modified according to known pharmacokinetic, clinicopathologic and pulmonary functional data in the cat. hile of more clinical than experimental value to our program (which involves rodents and g. pigs), this article emphasizes the homology between animals and humans in the pathophysiology of airway diseases and in approaches towards its prevention and/or treatment and hence, the relevance of animal research in this area.
