Morrison, M., D. Coffey, AND C. Burgeson. WATERSHED MANIPULATION PROJECT QUALITY ASSURANCE IMPLEMENTATION PLAN: FY90-93. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, D.C., EPA/600/R-93/178.

Description:

The purpose of quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) is to ensure that data from research and monitoring studies are of known and documented quality to satisfy project objectives. A/QC was an integral and important part for all of the U.S.EPA Aquatic Effects Research Program ( ERP) projects. he Watershed Manipulation Project (WMP) was a research project designed to: assess the quantitative and qualitative responses of watershed soil and surface waters to altered deposition; determine the interactions among biogeochemical mechanisms controlling surface water response to acidic deposition; and test the behavior of the AERP Direct/Delayed Response Project (DDRP) watershed models. he WMP was designed to test specific hypotheses relating various watershed process responses to acidic deposition at a variety of temporal and spatial scales through an interdisciplinary research approach. o ensure that data from the various laboratory, plot, hillslope and catchment studies satisfied the WMP objectives, a QA Plan was required that integrated QA/QC activities across all studies. his document describes the integrated approach to the QA program for the WMAP and was used to provide QA/QC guidance for all personnel associated with the WMP. t is intended to supplement the Watershed Manipulation Project: Field Implementation Plan for 1990-1992.
