Description:

The design and operation of a 40-station network to sample atmospheric particles resulted in the collection, over a 2-year period from July 1979 to September 1981, of the data summarized in this report. The sampling stations were located in eight western states: Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The 40 remote sites are regionally representative and are located on a nearly regular grid over the eight states.
