Impact/Purpose:
To adapt the U.S. EPAs Index of Watershed Integrity for use in the Mat-Su Basin in Alaska. This includes exploring the need of incorporating cold-climate hydrology factors in to the index. We also explored the inclusion of locally-relevant information not available...or necessarily relevant at larger scales.
Description:
This product provides an summary of collaborative efforts between USEPA/ORD, USEPA/Region 10/ and stakeholders in the Mat-Su basin in Alaska. The research effort seeks to adapt the Index of Watershed Integrity for use in cold climate hydrology for informing local stakeholders on the management of the Mat-Su Basin watershed.
