Description:

Traditional calibration of 90 degrees V-Notch Weirs has involved the establishment of a head-discharge relationship where the head is measured upstream of weir drawdown effects. This parameter is often difficult to mesure in field weir installations. Two other parameters are proposed for use as correlation parameters to weir discharge. These parameters are depth and width of flow at the weir notch. Techniques for measuring these parameters are proposed that result in less than 10% error in discharge at the 95% probability level in the laboratory environment.
