Description:
During a field evaluation of a stationary source method (SW-846, 0010), a problem of low sample recovery was encountered. he source had a high moisture content and the sampling media was difficult to remove from the sample container. he problem was identified to be the use of methanol to rinse the container. his rinsing procedure was allowed under the current method. ew procedure has been developed and evaluated that allows the sample to be removed from the container without the use of methanol and also explains the proper procedure for removal of water from the sample. his new procedure is given in this paper.
