Reynolds, T. AND S. Hawkins. WATER TREATMENT PROJECT: OBSERVATIONS ON USE OF GAC IN PRACTICE. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, D.C., EPA/600/1-80/023 (NTIS PB80203557), 1980.

Description:

The objectives of this project were: (1) to determine if granular activated carbon (GAC) adsorption beds applied in water treatment practice slough-off organic materials during the spring warm-up and (2) to evaluate the feasibility of the dilute or low-level COD procedure for the control of GAC beds in water treatment applications. Nine water treatment plants were studied for a period of five months during the spring of 1979.
