Seeker, W., M. Heap, AND T. Tyson. FUNDAMENTAL COMBUSTION RESEARCH APPLIED TO POLLUTION FORMATION. VOLUME 2C. PHYSICS AND CHEMISTRY OF TWO-PHASE SYSTEMS: HETEROGENEOUS NO REDUCTION. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, D.C., EPA/600/7-88/001C.

Description:

The reports included in the three-part volume describe eight studies by various investigators, to better understand the physics and chemistry of two-phase combustion with respect to pollution formation. Volume IIc gives information on the kinetic rates and mechanisms of nitrogen oxide (NO) reduction on solid particles, in three parts: (1) trials on NO and NH3, alumina, quartz, graphite and soot; (2) comparative study of coal and char; and (3) trials on flyashes and study of reactions involving hydrogen cyanide.
