STANDARD SETTING PRINCIPLES

Citation:

Robeck, G. STANDARD SETTING PRINCIPLES. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, D.C., EPA/600/D-83/018 (NTIS PB83171298), 1983.

Description:

The basis for setting drinking water standards has not changed much in principle during the past decade, but the procedure for creating them in an open manner has caused the United States, at least, to go through a much more elaborate process to obtain approval and support from the public. This presentation will briefly cover the steps (with examples) that the U.S. EPA must go through to create proposed regulations (standards) for the volatile organic compounds found in some ground waters.
