Schatzmann, M., W. Snyder, AND R.E. Lawson, Jr. BUILDING EFFECTS ON HEAVY GAS JET DISPERSION. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, D.C., EPA/600/A-95/042 (NTIS PB95192647), 1995.

Description:

A wind tunnel study was performed to determine the effect of a single building on the dispersion characteristics of a high-momentum heavy gas jet as it might emerge from the release valve of a pressurized storage tank. uilding-surface concentrations have been measured at corresponding locations with and without the building for varying wind speeds, wind directions, source/building distances and building shapes. t was found that, compared with a free jet at corresponding distances, the presence of a single building decreases rather than increases building-surface concentration maxima and lower's the flammability or toxicity radii.
