Description:

Administration of pargyline or q-butyrolactone enhanced immunostaining of tyrosine hydroxylase immunoreactive axons within the striatum. he qualitative characteristics of this enhancement were compound dependent and the enhancement was not associated with an increase in the amount tyrosine hydroxylase within the striatum. hese results indicate that immunostaining for neurotransmitter synthetic eyes can be pharmacologically enhanced without an increase in the synthesis of the enzyme.
