Between 1980 and 1990, EPA's Office of Research and Development carried out four major studies of human exposure to different classes of pollutants. hese are often referred as Total Exposure Assessment Methodology (TEAM) Studies, after the first in the series, which dealt with volatile organic compounds (VOCs). ucceeding studies were concerned with carbon monoxide, pesticides, and, most recently, particles. he Particle (TEAM) (PTEAM) Study completed field work in November 1990, just rounding out the decade.
