Description:
Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) was used in a survey analysis of organic compounds in an industrial wastewater. Problems in the interpretation of the GC/MS data in effluent from a specialty chemicals plant were addressed. An important feature of the study was the use of high pressure liquid chromatography as a supplement to GC/MS in the characterization of unknown but related mass spectra.
