Examples of these contaminants include pharmaceuticals and personal care products, microbeads and micro-plastics, flame retardants and endocrine disrupting chemicals. This talk will present an overview of the occurrence, detection and monitoring, hazard assessment, treatment and regulation of these CoCs. Non-regulatory approaches such as green chemistry will be presented as a proactive approach to designing less hazardous products and processes.
