Impact/Purpose:

The purpose of this presentation is to update drinking water treatment plant personnel about Agency research activities in the area of harmful algal blooms.

Description:

This presentation has three parts: (1) A review of data generated during through-plant sampling at seven Lake Erie drinking water facilities during the 2014 HAB bloom season; (2) A review of data generated during follow-up experiments to evaluate the impact of potassium permanganate oxidation on suspensions of intact cyanobacterial cells; (3) A proposed sampling plan for the 2015 HAB bloom season.
