Description:

It has demonstrated that an externally applied electric field perturbs the distribution of some of the macromolecules in biological membranes. Various electrostatic, hydrodynamic and structural forces resulting from the external field influence the movement of intramembraneous particles. This study investigates one of those forces, that due to the polarization of the ion distribution is calculated at any point on the cell surface.
